Today's the Day!

Pin It This morning we begin our Good Morning Girls study on the book of Colossians.  I am so excited to dive deeply into the Word of God with other ladies.

Today I studied Colossians 1:1-4, and could envision Paul sitting down with his ink and scroll, Timothy nearby, writing to faithful believers in Colosse who he had heard of.  He wishes them grace and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.  He tells them that he is praying for them.  He gives thanks to God for the their faith in Christ Jesus and for their love to all the saints.  I can only imagine the blessing such a greeting would bring to their hearts!

Our testimony for Christ may seem to us to go unnoticed, but in reality it speaks volumes.  God is pleased when my faith in His Son is manifested in love toward others.  I should also be thanking God for other believers I see around me who are walking in obedience to God's commands.  They are impacting their world for Christ, and in the book of 2 Timothy 3:12-17, Paul encourages Timothy with these words,
"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13  But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived. 14  But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them; 15  And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 16  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17  That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Living godly is not always easy, but it brings great blessings and great rewards.  It is God's Word living in us and through us that gives us the wisdom to live for Christ.  Along with that we need to be on our knees asking God for the strength to live for Him.  We need to be praying for each other.

May it be obvious to others today that Christ lives in me!
